House is nice. The doors are not so private. You can hear everything in the house. The slatted bathroom doors are not real private when you have a big group. The hot water was so so and the master bathroom is very small. The house was clean and in an awesome location. The pool area is very nice and big.

We have stayed at The Louisa house several times. We are pleased with the improvements they have made. I hope they are making some more too. We eat lunch out everyday when we’re there and eat dinner at home. I wish the stove was more updated. It’s not very consistent at heating. I feel a house like that should have upgraded appliances. It would add a lot to the appeal!

Great Location

We loved our time in Key West at this home. We spent a ton of time in the pool, outside on the deck, and walking to everything nearby. Having so many great restaurant options (cafes, food trucks, and an awesome bar with live music daily) in walking distance was fantastic. Higgs Beach for swimming is a little far, about a 20 minute walk or 5 minute drive, but it was worth the tradeoff to be so close to other things. We had an extra rental car for one or two days and never had any trouble finding street parking for it. We would stay again!Manager's ResponseThank you for your review. Loved it but...

Had a great time with family at Louisa house but the house itself was a bit rundown. Pantry door fell off, no light in downstairs bathroom. Mold and mildew in upstairs bathrooms. I would stay again but not at the current prices. It was very convenient to Duval but that being said it was more than a mile to Mallory square on the other end. A matter of 2 blocks to the water and southernmost point. Key west is one of our favorites and I would say having this place enhanced our stay. Rent key west was very accommodating allowing us to store our luggage after checkout. We also wishes the light switches were marked as we found it hard to figure them out. Also there were underwear hanging from the outside light when we arrived! Someone had a great party!

Very roomy and comfortable home, with great quiet location. This is a lovely home and photos don't do it justice. Parking is pretty tight, we parked our car on the street and used the parking space for our golfcart. Really nice well stocked kitchen. Comfortable and roomy bedrooms. Master has a nice little balcony. Living room and dining room are both spacious and comfortable. Awesome outdoor area with seating areas and pool. It was great to come home from a scorching day wandering around Key West and get into that pool! There is a beautiful mango tree just beside the property and the iguanas were enjoying the fruit immensely! The location is amazing, we walked to many restaurants, bars, and attractions. We did use the golf cart to go to Mallory Square. The property management was awesome! Thanks to Joyce and Joan for helping us out in a pinch! Rent Key West Vacations is wonderful to deal with, and we won't hesitate to go to them again when we return to Key West!

Great house - great location

We had four couples on vacation with us. This was a great location - walking distance to Southern Most Point, Hemmingway House, the Lighthouse and many great restaurants and bars. We enjoying barbecuing and relaxing in the beautiful pool. As an unexpected surprise, we also enjoyed fresh mangos that fell from the tree on the property.

We had 3 generations ranging from 3 to 73 and it was the best time in forever! The pool was crucial for us and it was perfect. We all had plenty of space inside. RKW was extremely responsive and replaced both the washing machine and grill. Jan was fabulous in helping us with reservations and recommendations and taking care of any problems! We would go back in a heartbeat and already regret leaving.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Louisa House! It’s just around the corner from the quiet part of Duval Street. We found many amazing restaurants, shops, and the beach within a five minute walk. When we had trouble getting into the safe, I called the property manager, and they were there within an hour to fix the problem. The beds were all comfortable and the house was kept up nicely. We had a great time and will definitely be back!!

Wonderful wedding week!

We rented Louisa House for our family to stay for our daughter's wedding - she has lived in Key West for 7 yrs. The house was perfect for our needs! The day of the wedding we had the bridal party there for hair and make-up and there was still enough room that no one felt crowded. The open plan is perfect for families and the outside areas are great to hang out! The people with Rent Key West were easy to work with and allowed us early check in since the house wasn't occupied the day before we arrived. We would highly recommend Rent Key West and Louisa House!

Perfect Location for a Family Getaway

Advance information sent to us was spot on. Check in was easy. House was clean and well equipped. Roomy and perfect for 7 adults (ages 20s to 80s) to spread out and enjoy our stay. Plenty of time spent in and around the pool. We made most of our breakfasts and lunches and grilled for a few dinners. Property Managers were quick to respond to our request for a propane tank refill in advance of planned Sunday cookout. To our surprise, someone even came out to put trash and recycling cans out before pick-up and then back after. The location is great - far enough away from rowdy night life, but easy walking distance to restaurants, shops, and bars. Our only complaint was the condition of the outdoor chairs (weaving was frayed or missing, but safe to use and not uncomfortable) and poolside loungers (each was cracked and unsafe for those of us of more ample girth). Reported this to the Property Managers. While we understand Key West sun takes its toll on outdoor furniture, this should be anticipated when purchasing furniture and replacements should be on hand or readily available. With only this one issue which we hope will be quickly resolved, we would definitely stay in Louisa House again!Manager's ResponseThank you very much for your candid review of your recent stay with us. This was a great house for four couples, One block away from Duval Street with parking for scooters or a golf cart. Rent Key West Vacations was very quick to respond to a couple of requests we had with the house, we would use them again. The only issue if its an issue all four bedrooms are upstairs and only one hallway bathroom and a bathroom in the master bedroom, the other full bathroom is downstairs with an additional half bathroom. House was clean and the pool was great. We would rent this house again, on our next trip to Key West.

The home is just as we remembered it, with the exception of the awesome palm tree that used to cover the house being gone. Everything was in working order and very easy to live in for a week. Great! We had a lot of fun! The rooms were small and having only 2 bathrooms upstairs (one in a bedroom) is a little difficult but everyone made due. The pool was great and deeper than we though it was going to be. This kept it cool which was nice. The outdoor sitting areas were also a nice touch. The kitchen was spacious and great for a large group to cook and hang out. The extra parking was also a big plus as we had mopeds and a rental electric car to park. The rental company was also accommodating with a late check out since all of our flights laft later I the afternoon. All in all we would definitely consider renting there again!

We loved the vacation rental. The location was great, easy to find. The house had plenty of room for the 7 of us. The pool and deck were great!There was so much to do on Duval Street, and we saved money by cooking most meals at the house. We shopped, went to the beach, dolphin watch/snorkeling, haunted trolley ride, had pedicures, listened to bands - so much to do!I think the mattresses and living room furniture could be updated, and I had to clean the kitchen ceiling fans before I could use them.

Terrific vacation!

We had eight friends come together for a wonderful vacation in Key West. On previous visits to Key West we have stayed in guest houses. This time we decided to rent a house which turned out to be a fantastic decision. Louisa house was perfect - great pool, outdoor lounging and dining space and nice to have a grill which we used several times. The kitchen was perfect and the indoor living space was great as well. The location close to Duval Street could not have been more convenient. The only slight drawbacks (though minor) were the twin beds (not very comfortable) and the downstairs shower is a little dated (could use a refresh). Overall our experience was terrific and we would definitely stay at Louisa House again and we recommended it to others. Oh, and the management company was terrific.

Great stay for family destination wedding

This property was ideal for our large family to spend the week of our daughters wedding together. There was plenty of room for everyone to relax and enjoy the beauty of Key West. The property was exactly as described. Plenty of beds and bathrooms , kitchen was appropriately furnished with necessary utensils etc. the pool was a fantastic play ground for our grandchildren and the outdoor patio furniture provided lots of space for the adults to gather and enjoy the outdoors. Management was pleasant and responsive to our needs when we called them. The house is in good shape s/p hurricanes but beginning to show some need for TLC. There are a ton of restaurants and things to do within walking distance and the family took advantage of our location to walk to the Southernmost point and local shopping. The only negative aspect of the stay was the parking situation. We live in Florida so we drove down. The space in the driveway is for a very compact car. Trying to find a spot on the road in front of the house is a game of roulette as others parked in front of this property frequently and we had to park down the street. If you are flying in and wont be needing extra spaces get a smaller vehicle and you will be fine.

Exceeded expectations

The property was a great fit (5 adults, 2 children, and a baby). It was well stocked with towels, bedding, and cookware. Outdoor area was very nice with a well maintained pool. It's located in a nice quiet area with some great breakfast/lunch spots just up the block. The only things that could use improvement are the twin beds which were sagging a bit and the floors could use a good cleaning. The property management was quick to address some minor issues with the access codes and alarm upon arrival. Overall we had an enjoyable stay and would definitely choose this property again. La Grignote and Ftitas stand out for excellent food and service. I highly recommend Sunset for any water activities; their crew went above and beyond to accomdate us. Our group of seven had a great stay! This home is in a perfect location, just a few steps away from the south end of Duval St. and only a couple blocks from the nearest beach. Loved the outdoor living spaces and spent time everyday in the pool. Rental company was accomdating and professional. They refunded pool heat charge at checkout, as it was not needed during our trip. Plenty of pool towels for our big group was a plus. Upgrading mattresses and a new outdoor umbrella would be our only recommendations. The house slept 8 people very easily with more than enough room for each person. The 3.5 baths made heading out that much easier for everyone as well. Great pool and outdoor space for grilling and hanging out. The house was excellent and with-in a mile walk of everything.

Comfortable Home

The Louisa House is in a good location within walking distance to just about everything in town. The house was large, and clean with plenty of room. Some things were slightly run down here and there but for the most part it was a very pleasant stay. The parking would have been a problem if there wasn't a driveway as there was ALWAYS someone parked right outside the house, morning, noon, and night.

Great family vacation

Wonderful house not far from the action but far enough to not hear it. Home was stocked with everything we could need upon arrival. The pool was a perfect size for the seven of us and much larger than most in key west. The mangoes falling from the trees created a little clean up each morning and did attract some local animals eating them but didn't pose an issue. Would definitely recommend and may stay here again in the future. Thanks for a wonderful place to call home for the week 🙂

One week with four couples!

Amazing and filled with lots of laughter. We filled this house up with amazing friends. Which, is a must. It has everything, but great room configuration. One master with small bathroom upstairs. Then, three tiny rooms with one other bathroom upstairs. We all had white noise machines in our room! But the location was excellent. House was clean. We cooked at home several nights. The rental people were amazing and helped with packages shipped to house. Would rent again with really good friends. No room for anything less

Awesome house, close to everything!

Great property & location! We had a group of 6 stay here for our wedding week and everyone really enjoyed lounging by the pool and the close walk to all Key West activities! Awesome house and location!

The house was clean and although close to neighbors, very quiet, well, except for us. The rooms are quite a bit smaller then the pictures, but we only used them to sleep. The outdoor area was perfect. If I had one complaint, and this has nothing to do with owner/realtor, but if someone parks in front of the house in a big truck, it's def hard to get in and out of with bags or luggage.

The house was nice and roomy and you cant beat the location! All the amenities were provided and although we brought back-ups as suggested, we didn't have to use our own t.p., dish soap, laundry detergent, etc. There were spices and other kitchen basics already in the cupboards. The pool was really nice and when I reported the patio umbrella missing, it was replaced the next morning. Pool towels are also provided. We loved staying here and will definitely stay again. The fact that it was pet friendly was a huge bonus but it did not smell like it was pet friendly at all. I would highly recommend this house!

Family Is Everything!

This is the second time we have used Rent Key West and would definitely use them again. Brad who completed our Rental Agreement was very professional and responded quickly to my questions through e-mail or by phone. The entire process before our stay was extremely positive. Likewise, the Louisa House was a great choice for our family of 8 adults and 2 children. The living arrangements were very comfortable and provided a significant amount of space for everyone. Unfortunately, the only disappointment was the deck/pool area in the back of the house. We did enjoy the pool after a day at the beach, but experienced a loose board around the pool, poorly maintained patio furniture and in the patio table there was a beach umbrella instead of an appropriate table umbrella which limited our time at the table because it was directly in the sun. We love the atmosphere of Key West and our overall stay at the Louisa House was very positive, enjoyable and a great deal of fun! A sincere thank you to the Rent Key West Vacation Team for making our family birthday celebration a successful vacation.

Girls Trip

6 of us rented this house for a week. The house was comfortable with plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. The pool was amazing - very private and relaxing. It was surrounded by mango trees - so fresh fruit everyday. We loved the concierge service which made planning excursions very easy - from day trip to dry Tortuga to sunset cruises to bike rentals to groceries. We would definitely stay there again.

Louisa House was a nice experience. Far enough off Duval to be quiet but close enough to walk almost everywhere. House was nice and clean but could use some repair, especially the kitchen. Rooms were small and provided no place to store clothing. The pool was very nice, along with the outside furniture and we enjoyed the pool very much, especially the kids. Outside upstairs porch was very nice and always a nice breeze there. Overall the house was beautiful and the location nice.

Great Spring Break at the Louisa House.

We just came back from a great week at the Louisa house. The house is in a perfect location to walk to almost everything in Key West. Higgs beach was easy walk and a nice shallow beach to swim and even snorkel along the jetty. The house was very clean when we arrived and the ceiling fans and AC kept everything cool. Our party was 4 adults and 4 girls between the ages of 13-16 and we had plenty room so we didn't feel like we were cramped. The pool was great and kept the girls busy when we wanted to hang out at the house. Kitchen well stocked and very functional. In total, a great stay. We would stay here a again.

We were a party of 8 and the house was fantastic, except for one outside issue. I would have given a 5-star rating for all categories had it not been for a rotted tree in the back yard. The tree was removed in the middle of our stay but we did have to deal with a horrible smell for four days and then a fallen portion. Since we spent most of our time outside, it had an impact on the first half of our stay. Apart from that, the house was great and the location could not have been better. The management company staff could not have been nicer or more accommodating. I would definitely recommend this house. We had a great time in a great place.

Fabulous family vacation

When we first arrived I thought, "oh no" this may be too close to Duvall street and all the action. I was wrong. This is half block off Duvall and very convenient. On the quieter end of Duvall and close to all the beaches. 4BR and 4bath accommodated our family very well. Had a well stocked kitchen; right down to the shrimp de-veiner which we learned how to use. The visit by the iguana is a added bonus. He is quite polite and non-intrusive.

Great. The heated pool was a very big hit. Location is perfect for all Key West activities. Rent Key West management went over the top to make sure all went perfectly. One small problem. The neighbor across the street, David, had friends on his front porch Friday night till 3:00 in the morning and they were very loud. I stepped asked them to be quiet and they got louder.

Great Time

I originally tried to look at this property on Google Earth, but could not see the pool from the air. Once we got there I realized that it was because of a massive palm tree that provides a great amount of seclusion and shade to the property. We spent a large amount of time in the amply sized pool and cooked on the full sized gas grill for many of our meals. Saw two regularly visiting iguanas that made their rounds each day. The place was just as it looked in the pictures, and the rental manager was as accommodating as they could possibly be. Since the property is accessed via codes and not keys, I didn't even have to go to the office when we left, only gave them a quick call to say we were leaving. The master bath is really really small, but hey, its Key West! We had 7 people and a minivan, which barely fit into the driveway, but it did. I would stay here again without hesitation.

The Louisa house is better than the pictures even. There's plenty of space, it's well stocked with games, kitchen is well stocked, and pool was great. We had an amazing time. The only thing I would change is the bedroom and bathroom doors are all slatted so there's no privacy. They put a panel on the back of the master bedroom door. They should do that with all of them.

Excellent house for vacation!

We had a party of 9 which consisted of two families stay at the Louisa House for 8 days. It was a great place to stay. Outside sitting area and the pool were hits among the adults and kids. It was conveniently located to everything since it was right off Duval Street. Staff was very accommodating when I had an issue getting into the keyless lock upon checkin. Check out was simple and easy. I have nothing bad to point out at all about our stay. I would highly recommend staying here and would definitely consider renting the same place in the future!

Tropical Getaway

This house is very roomy for 3 couples. We spent most of our time outside by the pool which was more than we expected. Some of the other reviews complained about the lack of privacy due to the louvered doors on the bedrooms and bathrooms. This never was an issue for us, maybe because we were never all inside at the same time. Having the parking space next to the house was a life saver since we had a rental car. There is very limited street parking and it seemed like this house was only one of few that had it's own parking space. We did not want to use the heater for the pool and told the management company when we arrived to turn it off. They did so and told me they would refund me the $500 deposit in a few weeks. They credited my credit card without any problems or delay!! The location was very close to South Beach and many shops and restaurants if you don't want to go to the other end of Duvall. There is a coffee shop and cafe at the end of Louisa. I would definitely recommend this house to friends and would stay there again.

Then the A/C went down, the management company went right out and bought A/C units for all of the bedrooms, of curse once they couldn't fix the bad unit...Then the pool pump broke but they fixed that pretty fast...all in all they did a great job and we all can't wait to go back to Key west real soon!!

Loved Louisa House!

The location of Louisa House is perfect for visitors who want to be in the heart of Key West! It has room for one vehicle to park next to the house. We rented scooters because there are so many convenient places to park them next to attractions.....not at all easy to park a car....very very limited! The house was comfy and we especially loved the dining/kitchen area that opened to a tropical pool setting. We like to cook...not eat out all the time and wished the kitchen had a couple sharp knives, pizza cutter, pie plate and that is why I rated a 4 on amenities. The beds were comfy as well as the other furniture. The rental staff was very professional and had landscaping workers arrive the very next day to retrieve fallen mangoes in the pool deck area. We just happened to be there during the season that mangoes ripen and fall from the trees! LOTS OF MANGOES! I would definitely recommend this house to a family or group of friends wanting to visit Key West! We had a wonderful stay!

A friends 50th birthday

We had 6 friends from CT come down to celebrate a friends birthday. There were 2 married couples and 2 single. The room in this house is amazing. One husband needs his space at times, as well as many of us, in this house, you have plenty of room to go and read or be alone if you need it. The pool and deck area was wonderful to spend the day at and chill out around. The management company responded to 2 small issues we had within a day. Everyone we spoke with, Sean and Brad were professional and helpful! Thank you! We had an amazing week and would rent this property again! Almost forgot, we rented mid June, mango season! We had a total of 3 couples and a single male at the Louisa House and found the home to be a perfect size! (except for a couple of the bathrooms which were really small). The living areas were spacious and nicely decorated. The property could have been cleaner for my taste, but I am relatively picky about that. The pool area was great and seemed to be our hangout and unwind spot. The location was just what we wanted. We were very close to the quiet end of Duval Street. The popular and noisy night spots were a bit of a walk but do-able. I would recommend renting bikes (there's a rental place right around the corner from Louisa House). We covererd a lot of territory on the bikes and could get to everything very easily. I was impressed also with the staff at KeyWest Rental. They were very helpful and friendly each time I contacted them. Would recommend this rental property!

Louisa House is in a great location. just 1/2 block off Duval St but at the quiet end. banana Caf right at the corner for breakfast needs! house has good layout and good size pool. we were three couples which was perfect. one bedroom is very small, only room to move on one side and at the end. loved the landscaping around pool. Pool towels need to be upgraded, most were polyester which does not absorb. they must have had a water leak issue as there is a slight mildew smell at the bottom of the stairs but not throughout the house. It looks as though they clean the cabinet doors as the paint has been rubbed off but they still have a sticky feel to them. not a big deal though as I'd go back today.

Great location..bedrooms are sufficient..the pool and deck was a great area to relax and I loved tropical landscaping. I am surprised by the negative feedback in prior reviews. Our 1 week stay was fantastic. The house was clean, we had more then enough bath towels and beach towels for 10 people. The front porch and upper balcony are furnished with wicker as is the back deck. Our air conditioner did not work on the day of our arrival, however within 1/2 hour of us reporting the problem someone was there to fix it. We also had enough glasses and plates for 10 people on any given day.(except for forks)I can not say enough about this place, the pictures and description do not give the house enough credit. Great place for a large family/families to stay while in Key West.Surprising large house with plenty of furniture inside and outside.

Great place for more people

Overall, the stay was great. The house was plenty large enough and very, very clean. No lingering odors. No scary mold. The air conditioning worked really well. The beds were comfy. The decor was tropical and tasteful. The pool was delightful. The keypad entrance was fantastic. Plenty of towels, both bath and pool. Plenty of space to lock up our 7 bikes. WiFi was nice. Wonderful, quiet location.Now the nitpickies.The dresser in the master closet was falling apart, and we weren't able to use all the drawers. And speaking of the master closet, the righthand corner ceiling was falling down and wet, so be careful what you put on the shelf. We didn't have any issues, but leaks keep leaking.I was told the dripping showerhead was on a punch list. But I also saw it mentioned in another review. It was annoying, but I rigged up my own rain chain so the water ran straight to the drain.The louvered doors. Now I get that it would provide ventilation throughout the house, probably helping with air conditioning costs. But it does limit privacy, which could be important, depending on the group.There seemed to be pressure differences in plumbing. The john found in the washing room had to be flushed twice to get the water to go down once. And the john off the pool had a similar issue.As I said, nitpicky. Overall, I was very pleased with the accommodations. For 7 people, it certainly fit the bill.I wouldn't hesitate to stay at this house again.

When we walked in we were all so excited that we had succeeded in shopping online for a perfect house. It got better as we looked at the furnishings. They had all the towels (pool and bath), pots, glasses, dishes, new gas grill, blow dryers, washer/dryer and ironing board. Beds were good - room sizes small but good. Plenty of hot water for showers at the same time. Ran low on silverware and could have used steak knives but if that was our only complaint - I'd say we had a successful stay.The sitting areas around the pool were great for 8 of us to lounge and dining. Ample chairs, sofa's lounge chairs and tables.Location felt very safe and is very convenient to walk to Southern Most Beach and all the Duval Street shops and restaurants. Even our seniors walked to a lot of them. Highly recommend this house for a large group.

We had a very nice stay, but there were some things I would change. Their wasn't enough silverware for the six of us, the bathroom doors were bad. We had a 8 month old bady and we could not put her on the floors because they weren't that clean. The vacuume they had didn't work. There was food in the couch and rotting in some doors. I just feel for what I paid it should have been perfect , but the floor plan was nice.

The house was clean and spacious. Plenty of room for everyone (there were 5 of us). Plenty of dishes and drinking glasses. Was pleasantly surprised that the cleaning people had left unused condiments in the refrigerator and unopened food in cabinets for our use. (We left food for the next tenants, too)We had a car but only needed it for grocery shopping. The proximity to Duvall Street and Old Town was perfect. Couldn't have asked for anything better and can't wait to come back and rent this house again. It was worth every penny spent.

Loved the house,the pool. There were four couples and we had a great time. One of us lost earrings in the house and in search for them were aware that house could be a little cleaner, dust under beds occasionally, move furniture and dust/vacuum underneath, but otherwise all was good. Oh, watch for the mango's & coconuts falling from the trees on the deck. Even mango's hurt when they hit you!

We came for a destination wedding. Location was perfect, right off of Duval but at the quieter end. Bedrooms small, but loved the open floor plan downstairs. We had a great time!

A perfect house - albiet a bit of a trot down Duval to the center of debauchery which makes for a long walk home... Accomodations were great, the porch and lanai were a great place to just hang and detox.
