Named after the body of water that stretches across the region, Puget Sound has the distinction of being Washington’s only growing region located west of the Cascade Mountains. It encompasses a wide swath of land—including numerous islands—from the Canadian border to the north through Seattle to Olympia, the state’s capitol to the south.

Due to its location, Puget Sound is unique for Washington as a growing region in that it has a temperate, maritime climate. In contrast, Washington’s growing regions east of the Cascade crest have arid or semi-arid, continental climates. Puget Sound is therefore by far Washington’s coolest and wettest growing region.

Saturday January 30th- A Willamette Valley Pinot Lunch from the Oregon Coast

Hosted at the Hyatt Centric Resort & Spa at Four Flamingos Restaurant at 601 Front Street  from 12:00pm – 2:00pm

The Willamette Valley in Oregon is renowned for its exceptional Pinot Noir wines, often referred to as “Burgundy West” due to their similarities with French Burgundy.

The region’s cool climate, long growing season, and varied microclimates contribute to the distinctive character of its Pinot Noir, which typically exhibits red fruit flavors, high acidity, and a subtle earthy note. Other grape varieties like ChardonnayPinot Gris, and Riesling also thrive in the Willamette Valley, producing high-quality wines.
