This two bedroom one-and-a-half bath condo is located in the gated community of the Shipyard close to Duval Street and Fort Zachary Taylor State Park Beach. Enjoy the large deck with ample sun or venture to the community pool for a dip.

In the heart of Old Town, with the beautiful community of private homes and condominiums of Truman Annex, this Shipyard Condominium has great access to Fort Zachary Taylor State Park Beach as well as the Historic Old Town Key West. This beautifully decorated first floor condominium on Southard Street has two bedrooms, one full and one half bathrooms.
The living room is nicely furnished with leather sofas, tv with DVD and high speed internet along with a fully equipped kitchen and dinette area to accommodate four people. One bedroom has been upgraded to a king bed, while the front bedroom has a queen bed. A large back deck gets ample sun and just enjoy the Key West weather. The association pool is just a short distance away.

The keypad lock didn't work a few times and I was locked out. The bathroom sink didn't drain, but your maintenance person fixed it. The TVs were almost impossible to use--multiple remotes--way too complicated. But overall we really liked the place. Remotes--very complicated.

Perfect Location

We booked the property through VRBO. Once we made our deposit, we were contacted by someone from Rent Keywest. Communication was very easy by both email and phone. Our flights were cancelled on our day of departure. I called and let them know and they said just to call when we arrived for the code to the key pad. We arrived, I called and got the code with no issues. There was some information on the counter waiting for us which was helpful, codes for parking, WiFi and how to access the pool. The condo is beautifully decorated and perfectly located. We had a car but did not need it. We walked out the door and felt like we were right near everything we wanted to see. The pool area was nice. The back deck was great to sit out both in the morning and at the end of the night. A/C worked great. Condo had everything you need. Great stay in a really nice condo in a great location

My wife and I enjoyed a week in perfect weather in a really nice condo in a great location, close to most everything by walking. The condo was spotless and well appointed with very nice amenities. The area around Shipyard condos was clean with adequate parking, which is a necessity in Key West. The rental company was spot on with everything. Almost perfect

Beautiful place for two couples. It was very well equipped, was in a great location near Zachary Taylor Park and beach, short walk to Duval Street, had a very nice and private shaded patio and TV's in each room. Two possible drawbacks for some people: the beds were small (full size only) and there is not a lot of storage in the bedrooms. Having said that, my wife and I would happily stay there again.

The location of this condo cannot be beat. Parking included a plus! The kitchen/living area clean and extremely well equipped. Newer appliances Bedrooms and bathrooms should have been cleaner. Deck on the back lovely. 4 blocks to Duval St, Truman Waterfront Park steps away (free bus loop), beach is close. Walking distance to Mallory Square. We arrived later than anticipated and check in was a breeze, even left a light on for us!

We absolutely loved our stay at Shipyard Palms and our visit to Key West. We certainly see why people fall in love with this place. The condo was perfect for the two of us. We prefer staying somewhere we have a full kitchen facility and felt right at home. Anything you could possibly want or need was in the condo. We were in heaven when we walked out the front door to the tree lined streets with the white picket fences. The backyard was quaint with it's deck, table and chairs. I always felt safe. We were literally blocks from everything. We rented bikes for a few days as well as a scooter and we covered a LOT of ground. But that's what we like to do. Ft Zackary Taylor State Park was close by and we found the beach there to be one of the better ones. We also did the day trip to the Dry Tortugas and I would highly recommend that as well. Yes the powder room was a bit small and yes the bed could have been a bit more comfy but those were minor. The pool areas were neat and clean.

10/10 - Would Stay Again!

Excellent location, great communication. The limbs in the back patio area/pathway needed to be trimmed and were obstructing the pathway. We appreciated the late checkout and fabulous communication along the way. There is a bike rental place 1 block away - easy walk. We loved the splash pad which was free and within walking distance. The unit was stocked with everything we needed. The dining table was wobbly and frustrating to play games on but we were able to make it work.

We just got back from a 9-day stay at this condo. Place was immaculate and ready when promised. Bedrooms are little small, but how long are you actually in there? Great deck out back to chill. Kitchen had everything we needed. Convenient to Duval and Bahamian Village. Quiet and there is a nice waterfront a stone's throw away. We were very impressed with the reservation company as we had to move our dates. Very accommodating and responsive. Will definitely go back here.

We loved staying at Shipyard Palms! The location was amazing! It was a short walk to everything we wanted to do! Walking distance to state park, Duval, Mallory Square and shopping/restaurants/bars! The pool area was fantastic! It had plenty of options to get sun or shade! The backyard patio was a private little paradise oasis! Lush landscaping surrounds the grounds! The condo itself was a little tight, but had everything we needed! Having a full kitchen and laundry helped! The décor was beautiful and Key West themed! We felt very safe as the community was guarded. We brought our two teenage daughters and the space worked out well.

Overall our trip was great.The unit was small but clean. Nether bathroom was attached to a bedroom and the 1/2 bath was so small as to make the toilet unusable with the door shut. We did have an issue with the AC. We had it set at 73 and the coils froze. We called maintenance and they walked us through what we needed to do (scoop water out of drain pan to turn off float switch). The washer and dryer both worked but were very loud during operation. The back patio almost made up for all of this. Fantastic!Location is perfect. You are a short walk to just about everything. Don't miss the Little White House! It's a great tour and tons of American history that most know knowing about.

My wife and I spent a week at The shipyard palms - Truman Annex. It was quiet and centrally located. We were able to easily walk to the Duvall street and most of the places we wanted to visit. Any place else we went we Ubered.

Loved this condo and the location. Beautifully and comfortably decorated. Fully equipped kitchen with new appliances. Ordered groceries through insta cart per a recommendation from Jenn. It was an easy process and so convenient. Very short walk to the nice community pool.Beautiful. Private rear deck for relaxing. Any time of the day you can move a chair to sun or shade.Short walk to Truman Waterfront Park as well as the beautiful beaches, trails and historic sights at Fort Zachary Taylor State Park. Short walk to Duval St...or buy a pass for the Duval Loop Bus. A seven day pass was only $4, $1.50 for seniors.Jenn and Joyce from Rent Key West Vacations were more than helpful with all of my questions and concerns. Easy, contactless check-in.

Not a single complaint!! The rental was clean and easily accessible. Jan at the rental office was very thorough and explained everything in great detail things like check in/check out, parking, door codes, what we needed versus what is already provided. The condo was beautiful! It was everything we had hoped for and more with one exception. The pool!!!! Our two grandchildren came for a short visit and wanted to swim in the pool. They are 3 and 5 years old. The pool was full of very angry senior citizens reading books They screamed and yelled at the children for splashing water. This pool area should be for everyone at all ages. The children were discriminated against due to the mean angry old people

The Shipyard Palms was great! It's central to everything and provided a wonderful vacation retreat. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because of the ongoing construction in the adjacent suites which began promptly at 8am and continued until 5pm every day, including weekends. If your not an early riser, this is a problem. Otherwise, the suite was clean, cozy and comfortable.

As long as you are aware of square footage restrictions this is a perfectlocation to visit Key West. Bedrooms are tight and half bath is more like aquarter. If you are a larger person or have mobility restrictions be aware. I have stayed in several locations in the shipyard, this was the cleanest best maintained. The condo is perfect if you are going to the new Truman Waterfont park. Shoe walks to the other hot spots. Good size for 2 couples. Pool is great. No issues during our stay. Kitchen is well equipped. With the front door on Southard, you can drop off people or supplies near the front door. Parking is in a lot central to all of the condos. In a very good location, close to everything. Very nice condo for the price. Quiet neighborhood. If I had to change anything, I would put a heavier curtain on front door for privacy. We got locked out twice (they key pad stopped working) but the management responded in a reasonable amount of time. Would definitely stay there again!

Shipyard palms was perfect for 2 people. The amenities were very good.....dish washer, washing machine, etc, even an ironing board! WE found that it was a perfect location. Unfortunately, we did not arrive before the Rental company closed and we would have appreciated their assistance re the parking lot.

Another spectacular trip to Key West

My husband and I have been vacationing in Key West yearly for the past 15 years. For the past several years we have stayed in a Rent Key West vacation home. This year we chose Shipyard Palms in Truman Annex as we were driving and wanted a parking space. We were delighted with the location and amenities in the Shipyard Palms. The unit was bright and very clean. Loved having a washer and dryer in the unit and the unit and area is surprisingly quiet. We will visit Key West again next year and will have a hard time choosing between Shipyard Palms or one of the cottages on Ann Street.

Our 10th (?) stay in Key West

This was our first stay at Shipyard Palms. The property was great and we'd recommend it to anyone. The location was central and it was possible to walk just about anywhere if you don't mind walking. We did keep a car this time and it was nice having an assigned space in this area of town. The Truman Annex is a beautiful and well-maintained area of Old Town to stay.

A1 Location and Updated Unit, Wonderful Experience

I could not have chosen a better location for us to stay than where this unit sits. It is in one of the nicest sections of Key West, near EVERYTHING. Mallory Square, The Fort Zachary Taylor State Park, and all of Duvall Street is just a couple of blocks away. There is really no need for a car if you rent bicycles. Much easier to find parking with them. I would recommend taking a cab to get groceries, and not even bother with a car rental, although there is a designated parking space for you to use. The unit shares a beautiful clean pool,has updated kitchen and appliances, very comfortable unit to stay in. We never used an electric grille before but were surprised how well it worked. The deck out back was a pleasure to eat breakfast on each morning. I would highly recommend this unit to anyone wanting a nice hassle free vacation. Rental Agents were easy to work with and gave us accurate complete information on everything we needed to know to get the most out of our stay there. The only negative I can think of would be the second bathroom is so small my knees hit the door when I was "reading" in there. Even so, with four people in the unit, it was nice to have it there. I would stay in this unit again without hesitation.

Condo was beautifully decorated and had all the amenities you need. It's in a great location in the Truman Annex which is close enough to Duval street to walk but yet secluded enough to be quiet. It's also walking distance to Fort Zach beach which was great. Rental company was great to work with. Very friendly and their new app is very helpful and personable. I would recommend this place to anyone. It's not overly large inside but is comfortable for a couple, 2 couples, or a couple with one or two kids. The extra half bath is very helpful and everything is modern and very clean. We had a great stay!!

OF COURSE ALL OF THE UPGRADES WERE ABOUT THE BEST FOR THE SIZE OF THE COTTAGE. Shipyard Paradise

We absolutely loved the condo at Shipyard Palms. The only complaint I would have is that the pool area is WAY too small for the complex. People would go out and lay towels on chairs early in the morning and by the time you had a chance to get there they were taken even though the actual people weren't there. The location of the condo was PERFECT. We didn't need a car at all. Everything was within walking distance. The condo itself was beautifully decorated and perfect for the three of us. The air conditioning unit leaked one of the days and there was water all over the floor but management was there within a hour to clean it up and fix it. Other than that we would most definitely come back. The area is completely private, not at all rowdy or loud with other guests partying, and close to everything. Loved it!

The apartment exceeded our expectations by far. It's interior is beautifully decorated and everyhting was neat and clean. The porch was also perfectly furnished. Everyhting looked brandnew and we felt like in a private environment not like in a place where every week somebody else is accommodated.Great place to stay and I can wholeheartedly recommend it. By the way, we were two couples and had plenty of space.

We love the location and the place and that is why we keep coming back We have stayed here for quite a few years and have had a few problems that were always taken care of promptly. We hope to keep coming back for next many years. We always have a great time, and this being close, but not too close to Duval and all that is wonderful.
