The house was very nice, roomy and they supplied everything you needed for your stay. If you want to spend time on Duval street this is the place to stay. It is just one block behind Duval and the corner next to "Bourbon Street. The only negatives were the pool didn't get much sun and it was almost impossible to lock/unlock the door.

House was perfect for what we were looking to do in our mid-late 20's. Close to Duval St. Plenty of room to sleep and management was extremely helpful.

Duval Roost is well hidden from just about everyone except one home next door. Even several locals had a hard time locating the house and street. Please note that despite what the rental brochures imply, this is not a freestanding home, it shares a roof with a very similar rental on one side. Overall we loved the privacy and also its proximately to everything in Old Town Key West, it is barely a few footsteps from the center of Duval street. The home was very clean and quite roomy by Key West standards. We stayed 10 nights and the only challenges we had were with the pool, when we arrived it had not been cleaned, a hose was running into it, and the water was very cloudy. We called and spoke to the rental company and they said they would call me back to let me know when it would get taken care of. They never called back and the pool did not get cleaned for several days. Later the pool heater turned on by itself and would not stay off, this is a big problem when it's 90+ outside and the pool water is 100++. Fortunately this was taken care of, but it took the rest of the following day to cool down. I want to believe that the pool issues are not the norm and we would definitely consider staying there again. I only wish the rental company returned calls and followed up with us to make sure the pool issues got resolved.

We were at the last minute moved here from another rental, and it turned out to be more than we could ask for. Everything was there for us at the house and it was in a convenient location to activites. The neighbors were quiet and we will definitely be back!

The property was clean, neat and sufficiently large enough for myself, my children and their spouses. The location was one block off the main drag thus givintg us easy access but not the noise. I highly recommend this property to any and all.

Working with the agency was trouble-free. The house was located close to Duval St, so convenient yet so very private. The roominess and openness of the house felt like a real vacation: far away from regular days and in a beautiful setting.

Our rental house exceeded our expectations in space, location, cleanliness, privacy, amenities...although randomly chosen, it couldn't have been more perfect for us. We would most definitely choose this house again and recommend it. The rental company was most helpful and accommodating.

We had 5 adults and a baby. The house worked out beautifully. Everyone had their space and the community area was large enough for all to enjoy. The location was superb, 1/2 block off Duval and near the middle of Duval. The rental agency was great with suggestions and help with crib and high chair rental. Only complaint was the floors were a bit dirty. Our barefeet needed a bath every night.

as a frequent traveler to key west, i enjoy trying out different accomodations each time. the duval roost has, by far, been my favorite. i traveled with my bf and his fam... all of us had ample private space - bedrooms were quite large and private bathrooms in each bedroom was a huge bonus! the house was clean and in the perfect location - 1/2 way between mallory square and the southernmost point, close enough to duval st to make it easy to stumble our way home yet far enough off duval that we barely heard the noise. i have to thank the staff at rent key west for being so helpful in finding the perfect location! all in all, the accomodations were perfect.

We really enjoyed our stay and would reccomend Duval Roost. The two master suites worked out perfectly for our party. We enjoyed staying near Duval Street and liked the pool in the back yard. Now for the downside: Fourth of July weekend was way too crazy for an old guy like me (age 51), neighbors were jumping off of their balconies into their pools at all hours of the morning (5AM) and I had to yell at and challenge our next door neighbor to stop using profanity. Other drawbacks, mice in the pool area( I pointed this out to the realtor) and the house is down the street from four gay bar/drag clubs. We thought this was fun but others with young children may not like to stay in this end of town.

We had 3 couples vacationing together and we preferred staying in the Old Town area, so Duval Roost was perfect for us. Three bedrooms and 3 baths made the house quite comfortable. The outside pool/deck area was great for 6. There were no loungers by the pool but plenty of deck chairs. The rental company was very accomodating. We would considering renting this house again!

Unfortunately when we stayed at Duval Roost, Key West was going through a rare cold snap, and Duval Roost doesn't have a heating system. 99% of the time this would not matter, but it was a little chilly for us. We found that Rent Key West was very responsive and a very easy company to work with. I would recommend dealing with them any time. Duval Roost is well located, only 1/2 block off Duval Street, but we didn't hear a thing. It has all the amenities,including two great, huge bedrooms upstairs with queen-size beds. My friend and I chose to sleep in the twin-bed room rather than share a queen size bed. (If it had been king-size, we would have been comfortable in it.) The twin-bed (kids) bedroom is very small and desperately needs redecorating so that it looks less like a kids room, but the little beds were comfortable. I would rent it again if I could have an upstairs bedroom.

The house was perfectly represented by Rent Key West. I cannot stress enough how nice the deck/pool area is compared to the other properties we looked at. Rent Key West made the whole process easy. We got to the property late and the keys did not work. I called the emergency number and Paul said he would be there in 10 minutes. He was there quicker than ten minutes with the right keys and this was at like 9:30 on Monday night!! The location of the house is within walking distance to everything but behind Duval by only a block so you don't hear anything and don't smell any smells from nearby cafe's. The house itself had everything we needed and more, although we never did find the remote for the downstairs tv!! I am sure Rent KW has taken care of that by now. There is one full bath and another half bath downstairs, we thought there was only a half bath. The 2 bedrooms upstairs were very nice, and quite large. No complaints here. Rent Key West has my number, if you're on the fence about this house call me...we LOVED it and loved working with Paul and all the nice folks at Rent Key West. You have some return customers here!!

The house is in a great location to walk anywhere. Quick access to Duval. Though I leave near and brought many things I thought we would need, the house had almost anything you need. All in my party were surprised how much was there. A overall nice rental and I would do it again.

A well laid out and comfortable home for a large extended family. Well equipped and maintained property but parking is not easy!!! Would highly recommend to other people.

I was treated like royalty from the initial e-mail correspondence to every personal telephone call I made to the office with questions. To be able to have our luggage shipped UPS to the office to avoid airline mistakes was a JOY! The home was spotless and looked just like the internet photos. Everything worked and boy did we use the laundry facilities!!! The pool area was lush and private. The location was PERFECTION! Walking distance to everything a vacationeer could want. I loved the quiet of this homes end of lane location. The total pkg. made for the perfect New Years Tropical Get-A-Way. We have already booked the Southard House for our New Year Get-A-Way for 2009. This was an amazing vacation for a group of friends that still talk about it months later. This property is centrally located, basically equal distance from Southern Most Point and Mallory Square. The house had everything we could have needed for our stay and the pool was cleaned several times during the week. The staff offered us many great suggestions from fishing to great places to eat. We did have a small issue....a/c didn't work when we first arrived. The office had already closed, but we called and staff arrived quickly. They even waited, while we went to eat, for the serviceman to come to complete the repair. We are currently contemplating our next vacation and aren't sure how anything could be as great as our Key West trip. We would definately return and we hope that "our house" is available.

This house turned out to be perfect for 5 women (cousins) on our biannual Chick Trip. There were 3 bedromms and 3 1/2 baths (always important for women to have access to mirrors!)and a great little pool with nice deck area if we didn't go to the beach. Location was perfect for walking to shops and restaurants on Duval St. Renting a house makes sense so that some meals can be prepared there which saves $. Would definitely recommend this place & would return there myself.

We really enjoyed the big, open air surroundings at the Duval Roost. It is very convenient to the middle of Duval St. The house was very comfortable, and easily cared for. We really enjoyed our one week stay, but had minor issues with the clothes washer (the door latch was balky) and the pool water quality (some in our party suffered U. T. infections later in our stay). All in all, though, a wonderful experience that we would recommend...

We loved the house and the location. The only reason we didn't give it 5 stars was because somebody had a wedding reception right next door with live music. This noisy affair went well into the night and it was on one of the weekday nights that we stayed there. I believe there is a noise ordinance that was just basically ignored. Otherwise, this is an ideal place to stay.

Great location in Key West. Everything as advertised. Plenty of room. Well maintained.
