Newton Street remains a peaceful enclave - hard to believe it is situated between busy White and Truman streets. The interior was immaculate, as always, and it only took about 20 minutes to unpack the groceries and we were off downtown. Ok - it helped having a friend collect our keys, pick us up at the airport, and swing by the shopping mall! We love the house, and the pool. If the water feels even the slightest bit chilly, get the pool heating turned on. It is worth it - like getting into a warm bath. The broadband is now wi-fi so you can sit outside to check emails (or in the pool!). We normally walk everywhere (about 30 mins to Mallory Square), but a taxi back at the end of a hard days' sightseeing was only about $8, and worth it. The realtors work really hard to make sure you have a good stay; a new tea kettle was delivered within hours of our reporting that the old one was unusable, and the timing on the yard lights was adjusted the same day. The yard service removed and chopped up several huge palm fronds that we couldn't even lift! We are going back next year.

We have stayed at the Newton Street Hideaway for several years, and, as soon as we open the door, it's just like coming home! It's fun to spot the improvements made by the owners since our previous visit (this time there were new rugs in the kitchen, and stools at the breakfast bar) The house is situated in the quiet residential area known as The Meadows, on the far side of White Street, but it is still within walking distance (30 minutes max.) of all that Key West has to offer. There is an off-road parking space, but you don't need one as there is always space on the road. You don't actually want a car in KW. We love the property for its seclusion, and the very private pool with outside shower; also the kitchen was remodelled last year, and this opened up the whole living area. Look at the photos. The realtors are very helpful and prompt to deal with any problems that arise. During our last visit, the aC was not cooling the house down, this was sorted within the day while we were out. We have stayed in several RentKeyWest properties but this is our favourite - we have already booked for our next vacation!
